Winemaker(s): Walgate — a detail-focused English producer working with low-intervention methods and long élevage to bring depth and texture to cool-climate varieties.

Winemaking: Whole-bunch direct press of both varieties; fermented wild; aged slowly in a mix of fiberglass and old oak (80:20). Bottled unfined, unfiltered, with minimal sulphur additions. Only 4,300 bottles produced.

Name Meaning: Simply “Blanc” — a stripped-back, honest expression of English white wine focused on purity and texture rather than ornament.

Interesting Fact: Both Ortega and Auxerrois come from a Suffolk vineyard — a pairing rarely seen together, producing a soft, rounded English white with a surprisingly generous palate.

Serve With: Soft cheeses, white fish, grilled asparagus, roast chicken, vegetable tarts or simple, summery plates that suit a gentle, textural white.
